Uriah stood behind the Pokemon Center, where there was a training battle field. He stood off on the side as he had one Pokemon on each side, Ambipom and Buizel. Buneary was sitting in the shade of a tree a little behind him. "Buneary, Ice Beam!" He called out. Buneary did the move at Buizel. "Buizel, Sonic Boom!" Buizel did the move, and the ripples hit the Ice Beam and made it sparkle. "Great job! Buneary, Jump Kick! Buizel, Aqua Jet!" Buneary jumped and put her foot out, while Buizel did an Aqua Jet and they collided, making a bright light.

Luca trailed along with his Charmeleon by his side. As he made his way towards the Pokemon center he saw a bright light coming from behind it. Curious, the 13 year old boy spotted the cause for such a flash. A person was training his Pokemon behind the Center and it didn't seem like regular battle training. This highly intrigued him, because usually this flashy battle-style had more to do with contests. Contests were more based on looks and creativity not to mention routines. Unlike regular battles that seemed to involve more brute strength and were obviously less flashy.
"Training?" He asked aloud.

The fifteen year old turned to see another boy watching his training. "I am." He said. "I'm training for when there's going to be a contest. My name is Uriah, what's yours?" Uriah asked. "Also, if you'd like, I could show you what I know about contests and we could have a contest battle."

"My name is Luca." He greeted casually. "Sure I'd be up to seeing maybe a routine of yours. Although I'm not too sure how well I'd do at a practice contest battle. I'm not much of a coordinator, my talent harbours in simple battles." He laughed sheepishly.

(Oops xD Ambipom is in the shade while Buneary is battling, wrote that wrong.)
"I'll tell you what." I said. "I'll teach you some important things about contests and you could enter one with me. Now, on to a routine.." I turned back to my Pokemon. "Ambipom, get out there." Ambipom went out. "Ambipom, use swift!" The stars of swift went out and they made a large ring around Ambipom's head. "Buizel, Hydro Pump!" Buizels hydro pump blasted the swift and made a glimmer above Ambipom's head.

He watched the boy perform with his Buizel and Ambipom. Luca was in awe at how such pretty things could be done when you trained as a coordinator. He'd judged a contest once but it had been only a fill in and he pretty much had a hard time at it.
"I'm not sure my Pokemon are contest material. They were more trained for strength. I don't think I'd ever be able to use combination attacks with my Pokemon." He explained. His Charmeleon watched the routine with it's usual glare.

"Strength can be used too." I told him. "If a trainer sends a powerful move at you in a contest battle, you can hit that move with another powerful one and it'll often make a light that looks pretty good, that will make the other person loose points. How about we have a test battle? A contest double battle between you and I."

"Are you sure? Don't expect me to be too flashy. I also won't go easy on you." He knew he really wasn't supposed to challenge people unless it was done officially at the tower, but if it was unofficial it was alright. At least that's what he'd tell himself. He took out a Pokeball.
He has a Buizel.. Sparky would be an obvious choice. He thought to himself. "Are you entirely sure you want to battle?"

"Contest battle." I corrected him. "And yeah, it would be fun. It's not like we are going to get in trouble for having a practice battle." I joked, oblivious to the fact the champion was in front of me. "I'm going to use my Ambipom and Buizel, use whatever two you would like."

"Contest, right." He tried to remind himself this wasn't really an actual battle. It was but.. really just for fun and unofficial. "Go Sparky!" He threw the Pokeball and a Jolteon emmerged from it. The boy took out his Pidgeot's Pokeball but his Charmeleon approached. "I guess you wanna battle Holo. I usually wouldn't use a fire-type in a battle with a water-type in it but I guess I have no choice." He put the Pokeball away.
"I'll be using my Jolteon and Charmeleon."

"Right." I said. "I can begin for us, remember, you want your moves to make your pokemon look good, but also to make mine look bad. Buizel, Aqua Jet!" Buizel did an aqua jet, staying on the ground, and began spinning, giving it a beautiful look. "Ambipom, use double hit!" Ambipoms double hit hit Buizel's aqua jet and sent him at the opponent at a high speed, also leaving a glimmer from the hits by Ambipom.
