The boy walked with his Charmeleon by his side. The fire-type Pokémon's tail lashed from left to right. It eyed the berries as they walked across the orchard grounds. Luca walked ahead and noticed his Charmeleon had come to a stop and was no longer by his side. Curiously, the 13 year old watched as the Pokémon grabbed a berry and it's face seemed to twist into an odd expression as it breathed a heap of fire into the air. "I'm guessing that was a bitter berry and not the sweet kind." Luca walked over and gave a small grin at the red Pokémon.
"This orchard sure grows a lot of them.. But I wonder how you tell the bitter ones from the sweet ones?" He questioned aloud while eyeing the fruit. "I wonder if it's safe to eat?"

Two teddiursas trailed along with me, one on my left and one on my right. Sticky little paws snatched onto my leg. Hun, the kinder and sweeter of the two pokemon, looked up at me with the common teary eyes. I grinned and snagged the little bear up, following the way its paws reached. Hun grabbed a large pink fruit covered in a clear slimy gel. I shook my head and put the creature down, making sure Bun, the twin to Hun, hadn't run off again. With both at my side, I continued. I looked over to see a familiar face picking around the berries.
I blinked worriedly as I noticed the type of berry he was fingering at. I let out a squeal and dashed over. The sound of skittering paws kicking up mulch sounded behind me. "Ack! That berry is really hot!"

Alarmed, he dropped the berry quickly as the voice of a girl warned him about the heat this berry packed. "Oh.. Hey Sou!" He greeted with a wave of his hand. "Fancy seeing you here!" He hollered as she approached. "I see you brought Hun and Bun with you. It's always nice to see the twin teddiursas again." The Charmeleon had wandered off picking at a few berries but seemed to dare not eat another after that bitter meal. He watched it out of the corner of his eye with a small grin but turned back to Sou. "Hey how'd you know that berry was hot? This place is called bitter-sweet orchard I had no idea other berries grew here. Maybe they grow in the midsts of the bitter and sweet ones.. hmm.." He crossed his arms.
"I guess you do have a natch for berries like always. Holo ate a bitter one and he gave a pretty messed up face because of it. I don't really know which ones to advise him not to eat." He shrugged.
"Did your berry and herbaceous interest bring you here today?"

I breathed a sigh of relief as the boy dropped the berry. I bent over and picked it up. I dusted it off before handing the berry down to Hun. Although the little bear looked to be quite adorable and shy, he was almost the opposite. The pokemon latched onto my hand excitedly and licked up the berry. I cringed at it, I could not deal with hot stuff. I looked back over to Luca with a small smile. I gave a quite snicker at him and put my hand over my mouth in an attempt to cover it.
"Berries are all different tastes and flavors. There are about more than I can even say in here. It goes from savory to sweet." I gave a little shy shrug, trying to not brag or anything. I blinked as he mentioned something about giving Holo berries. I gave a soft grin and turned, snatching up a pale purple berry, light teal spots covered its surface. I went down, sitting on the backs of my legs and held out the berry towards Luca's little pokemon friend. I looked up at the Champion. "Uh, well. I mean, I do really like flowers. I think I come here because of that and the fact that Hun and Bun loves berries and honey."

"Really? I wonder what type of berry Holo ate then. By his face it was either sour or bitter." He wondered. "Those two seem to be enjoying the snacks." He laughed lightly. "Have you seen any interesting Pokemon around here? I've been thinking about maybe keeping one of my current Pokemon back at the sanctuary and catching a new one. It's been a really long time since I've raised a Pokemon since my Arcanine." He seemed to blab on about Pokemon like he usually did.
Luca's favorite part about Pokemon was definitely raising them. Maybe it was seeing the friendship grow or the Pokemon grow to its final stage, if it had one. But he really seemed to have a knack for it. "Oh! How have you been? I haven't seen you in a while." He looked through the berry patch and grabbed one.
